NOTE. Twelve articles of any kind make one dozen, 2 dozen must be 2 times as many as 1 dozen, 3 dozen, is 3 times as many, &c.

27. How much is ninety-six times one thousand and nine hundred and ninety-nine?

28. A man purchased eight cows at nineteen dollars each, 3 yoke of oxen at seventy-five dollars per yoke, and 137 sheep at two dollars each. How much did the whole come to?

3. A man bought 8 oxen at thirty-eight dollars each, 6 cows at nineteen dollars each, and 14 steers at 9 dollars each; but not being able to pay for the whole at the time, he gave his note to pay 144 dollars; how much cash did he pay down?
