1. Mr. Williams' automobile cost him $2350. If his car weighs 3250 pounds, he paid a pound.

3. About 60% of the automobiles (3,066,000) sold in the United States in a recent year were sold on time basis. How many were sold for cash?

8. Mr. Johnson bought an automobile for $900. If it cost him $200 for all expenses to run his car for one year, and the car depreciated 30% of its cost and we allow 6% interest on the cost, how much did it actually cost him to run that car for one year?

9. Four people made a trip of 8000 miles in an automobile. The cost was 10 cents a mile for the use and wear of the car. If the cost was evenly shared by all four, what was the cost for each?

10. I bought an automobile, priced at $1800, for down and $100 per month. At the end of 4 months I was obliged to return the car because I could not keep up my payments. The company then sold it for $1080, deducting sufficient of my payments to make up the $1800.
