Sec. 3. Sec. 4. ing-camps, of any of the Indian tribes as a trader, without a licenfe under the hand and feal of the fuperintendant of the department, or of fuch other perfon as the President of the United States fhall authorize to grant licenses for that purpose: Which fuperintendant, or perfon authorized, fhall, on application, issue fuch licenfe, for a term not exceeding two years, who fhall enter into bond, with one or more fureties, approved of by the fuperintendant, or perfon iffuing fuch licenfe, or by the Prefident of the United States, in the penal fum of one thoufand dollars, conditioned for the true and faithful obfervance of fuch regulations and restrictions, as are, or fhall be made for the government of trade and intercourfe with the Indian tribes: And the fuperintendant, or perfon iffuing fuch licenfe, fhall have full power and authority to recal the fame, if the perfon fo licenfed fhall tranfgrefs any of the regulations or restrictions,

provided for the government of trade and intercourse with the Indian tribes; and fhall put in fuit, fuch bonds as he may have taken, on the breach of any condition therein-contained.

Sec. 10. And every fuch perfon, purchafing a horse or horses, as aforefaid, in the Indian country, without a fpecial license, fhall, for every horse thus purchafed, and brought into any fettlement of citizens of the United States, forfeit a fum not exceeding one hundred dollars, and be imprisoned not exceeding thirty days. And every perfon, who fhall purchase a horfe, knowing him to be brought out of the Indian territory, by any perfon or perfons, not licenfed, as above, to purchafe the fame, fhall forfeit the value of fuch horfe.
