ESOLVED by the Senate and Houfe of Reprefentatives of the United States of America, in Congress affembled, That the Secretary for the Department of War, return to the refpective diftrict Judges, the names of all fuch perfons, as have been tranfmitted to him by the feveral district Judges, pursuant to the act for the regulation of claims to invalid penfions; and in whofe cafes, the examining phyficians have neglected to fpecify the ratio of difability; together with fuch defective returns of phyficians. And the faid district Judges, refpectively, fhall forthwith cause the examining phyficians to specify the feveral rates of difability, which have been fo neglected; or, in cafe of fickness, death, or removal of one or both fuch phyficians, to make new appointments, and cause the several rates of disability to be specified, and by the faid phyficians returned to them, as foon as may be; of which, they shall make return to the Secretary at War, who fhall, at the feffion of Congrefs holden next after, or at the time of fuch receipt, make return thereof, with fuch obfervations, as he may think proper to fubjoin, that the proper order may be taken thereon by Congress.

E it enacted by the Senate and Houfe of Reprefentatives of the United States of America, in Congress affembled, That the Se- Acts of cretary for the Department of State, fhall prefent sefcause to be included in the edition of the laws published: of the United States, directed to be printed by the faid act, the laws of the United States which may be paffed during the present sesfion of Congrefs: Provided, the fame can be done at an expense which he shall judgé reafonable.

CHAPTER LVI.

An Act giving Effect to the Laws of the United
States, within the State of Tennessee.

Sec. I..

E it enacted by the Senate and House

B of Representatives of the United

States of America, in Congress affembled, That all the laws of the United States, which are not locally inapplicable, ought to have, and fhall have, the fame force and effect within the state of Tennessee, as elsewhere within the United States.

And to the end, that the act, intituled, “ An act to establish the judicial courts of the United States," may be duly administered within the state of Tenneffee,

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That the faid ftate fhall be one district, to be denominated Tennessee district, and there fhall be a districtcourt therein, to confift of one judge, who fhall refide in the faid district, and be called the district judge, and annually hold four feffions; the firft to commence on the first Monday in April next, and the three other feffions progreffively, on the like Mondays of every three calendar months afterwards. The faid diftrict-courts fhall be held alternately at Knoxville and Nashville, beginning at Nashville. And the faid judge, fhall, in all things, have, and exercise the fame jurifdiction and powers, which by law, are given to the judge of the district of Kentucky.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That there fhall the judge. be allowed to the judge of the faid diftrictcourt, the yearly compenfation of eight hundred dollars, to commence from the date of
