You without doubt are aware of every circumstance of the illustrious life I have striven to portray, but there are unfortunately many who are not so well informed, and it is for them that I have written. When, however, the whole truth shall have been told-as I fear is not the case even now-concerning the great chief whom we are proud to follow, there can be but one opinion with regard to Lord Beaconsfield and to his multitudinous critics.
