5. Examine the validity of the following arguments :

(i) If the Irish do not appreciate the efforts of Mr. Gladstone on their behalf, they are an unreasonable nation; but we know them to be unreasonable, therefore we cannot hope that they will appreciate Mr. Gladstone's efforts.

(ii) If an historian is impartial, his work is of value to his country. Macaulay was not impartial, therefore his works are of no value to his country.

6. Give examples of a simple constructive dilemma, a complex constructive dilemma, and a destructive dilemma.

7. Give briefly what seems to you to be the advantages of the Quantification of the Predicate.
