On a straight line AB, 6 cms. in length, as base draw a triangle of 21 square cms. area, and having the median through A equal to 5 cms. How many solutions are there to this problem?

2. Divide a given straight line so that the rectangle contained by the two parts may be equal to a given square. Hence find graphically two numbers whose sum is 9 and product 16.

3. If from the point of contact of a tangent to a circle a chord be drawn, show that the angle between the chord and the tangent is equal to the angle in the alternate segment.
