University of Adelaide. PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS BOARD. The Board has been appointed by the. Council of the University to conduct the Public Examinations in General and Commercial Education. Its members are the Professors and Lecturers of the Faculties of Arts and Science, together with the Professor of Law. Applications for forms of entry, and all payments, are to be made to the Registrar; other communications to the Secretary. LOCAL CENTRES. Candidates may be examined at Local Centres in which a Committee of Management has been formed and approved by the Board. Candidates desiring to sit at these centres must make all applications, payments, and communications to the Local Secre taries. Randell Examinations were also held at Collie, Coolgardie, Dongarra, Geraldton, Gingin, Mount Leonora, Mount Morgans, Newcastle, Norseman, and York during 1906. 1. Subject to the approval of the Board public examinations may be held at any place where a Local Committee can be formed. 2. The Local Committee must consist of a Secretary and at least two other gentlemen, and must be composed of well-known persons occupying responsible positions who have no such personal interest in the candidates as can lay them open to suspicion of partiality. 3. The Local Committee is to be elected by residents of the district, and while the Board will not interfere in the choice of members, it reserves the right of approving or disapproving of any proposed Committee. 4. The local expenses of the examination shall be defrayed by the Local Committee, but the Board will supply the necessary paper for candidates and will pay postage on examination papers to and candidates' answers from the Local Centre. 5. Application for approval of formation of a new Local Centre must be made to the Secretary to the Board at least six weeks before the date of holding the examination. DATES OF EXAMINATIONS. The days and hours of examinations will be intimated to candidates after the entries have been received. JUNIOR AND SENIOR TIME TABLES FOR 1907. The following are the time tables for Junior and Senior Public Examinations in November, 1907. Candidates are notified that no entry cards will be forwarded for these examinations; but lists of the names of candidates and their distinctive numbers will be posted at the University at least a week before the date fixed for the beginning of the examination. Candidates sitting at Local Centres will obtain their distinctive numbers from the Local Secretary. All candidates are particularly requested to make themselves acquainted with their numbers before entering the examination room. |
