The present Conference is the 1st conference in a series of conferences to come with main topic quantitative methods in the social sciences. The purpose of the conference is to present and publish research output of all the Universities and Technological Institutions of Greece and the different nations of the World.
Another important purpose is to facilitate the interaction between two worlds: the world of Business and the world of Academic Community. The organizers of this Conference have the ambition to establish a forum for discussions on the theory and applications of the Quantitative and Qualitative Methods in the different business sectors such as Small to Medium Enterprises or large Companies in Industry, Commerce, Tourism, Health, Public Sector, Shipping Industry and financial services.
The Proceedings of the conference have an ISBN number.

Dr Christos Frangos is currently Director at the Greek Research Institute for the Study of Quantitative, Social and Biomedical Problems. He is a Former Professor of Statistics & Business Methods at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens, Athens, Greece.
He was born in Ioannina, Greece and received his:

· BSc in Mathematics, National Capodistrian University of Athens, Athens, Greece

· MSc in Statistics, Brunel University, London, UK

· PhD in Statistics, London School of Economics, London, UK

He has advanced through all academic positions working in various international academic institutions, among which Southern Methodist University (USA), University of Witwatersrand (South Africa), University of Ioannina (Greece) and University of Crete (Crete), and has provided consulting services to private companies.

His research has appeared in international journals, such as Biometrika, Communications in Statistics, Gut and CyberPsychology, Behavior & Social Networking and has participated in multiple international conferences. He has written seven books in various statistical topics.

His research has also appeared in various Greek newspapers (e.g. Ta Nea, Kathimerini, Ethnos, Eleftheros Typos, Eleftherotypia) and has been reported in Greek broadcasting media (e.g. Mega Channel, NET).
