How have I abus'd thy Grace, Trampled on thy precious Blood, Turning to Lafciviousness, Thy rich Goodness, O my God; 1 can only scarcely Mourn, Lord, be gracious to me ftill, Turn to me, a Sinner, turn, Save, O fave, my Soul from Hell.
At thy Mercy's Feet I lie, Lord, do with me as thou wilt, This my Language, though I Die, The dear Saviour's Blood was spilt: This fhall be my ceafelefs Cry, This fhall be my latest Plea, Jefus did for Sinners Die, O my God, he died for me.
Father, Son, and Holy Ghoft, The mysterious One-in-Three, Thou doft freely save the Loft, Praise and Glory be to thee; Earth below, and Heaven above, Both confpire to fing thy Praise, Both rejoice in Jefu's Love,
Both proclaim his fov'reign Grace.
On the laft Day of a Year.
RISE, my Soul, this Day Review, The now expiring Year,
What Praises to thy God are due,
For all his Love and Care.
How many thousand Souls are fled, Since the laft New Years Day : Their Bodies number'd with the Dead And mould'ring into Clay.
O in what Dangers, Fears and Straits, Thy Life has been upheld; And ftill fweet Mercy on thee waits, And God is ftill thy Shield.
My num'rous Sins, O Lord, forgive, And bless me with thy Grace;, That if another Year I Live, It may be to thy Praife.
ITH this new Year we raise our Songs, To Praise the Lord with Hearts and For his Support in Troubles paft, (Tongues, Wherewith our Lives were overcast.
O grant us, Jefu, Prince of Peace, Thy conftant Aid, thy conftant Grace, That we may thro' the rolling Year Serve Thee with filial Love and Fear.
Grant us to lead a Holy Life,
And when we leave this World of ftrife, O bring us to that joyful Day,
When thou wilt wipe all Tears away.
Guard us, Oh! guard us from all Sin, And let us be renew'd within ; Maintain O Lord, our Faith and Love, Till we behold thy Face above.
ND are we Wretches yet alive? And do we yet Rebel?
'Tis boundless! 'tis amazing Love! That bears us up from Hell.
The burden of our weighty Guilt, Would fink us down to Flames; And threat'ning Vengeance rolls above, To crush our feeble Frames.
Almighty goodness cries forbear, And ftrait the Thunder ftays, And dare we now provoke his Wrath? And weary out his Grace.
Lord, we have long abus'd thy Love! Too long indulg'd our Sin;
O that our Hearts may bleed to fee, What Rebels we have been.
No more our Lufts may ye
No more may we obey!
Stretch out, O God, thy conquering Hand,
And drive our Foes away.
NCE more the constant Sun, Revolving round his Sphere,
His fteady course has run, And brings another Year; He rifes, fets
But goes not back, Nor ever quits
His deftin'd Track.
Hence! let Believers learn, To keep a forward Pace, Be this our main Concern, To finish well our Race; Backflidings fhun, With Patience prefs, Towards the Sun Of Righteousness.
What now shall be our Tafk, Or rather what our Prayer, What good things fhall we afk, To profper this New-Year; With one accord
Our Hearts we'll lift, And afk our Lord, A New-Years Gift.
No trifling Gift or small, Should Friends of Chrift defire, Rich Lord, bestow on, all, Pure Gold, well try'd by Fire
Faith that ftands fast, When Devils roar, And Love that lafts
For evermore.
OW can we adore, Or worthily praise,
Thy Goodness and Pow'r, Thou God of all Grace! With Honour and Bleffing, Before Thee we fall, Moft gladly confeffing Thee, Father of all.
The Heavens and Earth, And Water and Air, To Thee owe their Birth, Subfift by thy Care; While Angels are finging Thy Praifes above, We Mortals are bringing Our Tributes of Love..
Thou Saviour art One
With God the Supreme, His eternal Son,
And equal with Him: Invefted with Glory,
On high doft thou fit, While Angels adore Thee And bow at thy Feet.
