£309,338, 48. 10d. INVESTMENT BRANCH. THE STANDARD INVESTMENT Society allows at present THREE per Cent. per annum on Temporary INVESTMENTS, repayable on short notice.

The Society also issues DEPOSIT RECEIPTS for stated periods, bearing Interest at from 372 to 4%2 per cent.

THE SOCIETY'S WHOLE FUNDS are INVESTED in HERITABLE SECURITIES only; thus affording to Depositors all the advantages and security of a bond over heritable property, without any of the attendant ex. penses, risk, or trouble, and with the additional advantage of withdrawing money, on short notice, as required.

No hazardous or personal securities are accepted under any circumstances whatever ; and as the Properties on which Money is advanced are carefully selected (nine-tenths being situated in the city of Edinburgh), the security is of the best and safest description.

LOAN BRANCH. Sums, varying in amount from £100 to £10,000, are advanced by the Society for any period of years not exceeding twenty-five, the sum borrowed being liquidated by an Annual Rent-Charge, which includes both Principal and Interest.

Since its establishment to the close of 1870, the Society has made Advances to the amount of £594,473, on Properties valued at more than Three-quarters of a Million Sterling. Although only in its fourteenth year, the Income of the STANDARD greatly exceeds that of any other Investment Society in Scotland

The Rates for Repayment of Loans, and every other information regarding the Society's operations, may be obtained on application. OFFICE HOURs, 10 to 4, and 6 to 8; on SATURDAYS from 10 to I only.
