PARTIAL PAYMENTS.

In computing interest on notes, bonds, &c. whereon partial payments have been made, it is customary, when settlement is made in a year, or in less than a year from the commencement of interest, to find the amount of the whole principal to the time of settlement, and also the amount of each payment, and deduct the amount of all the payments from the amount of the principal.

The learner may compute the interest on the following notes; considering the rate to be 6 per cent. per annum, when no other rate is stated.
