WRITTEN WORK

1. Make a calendar for January. Start with Thursday, Jan. 1st.

2. How many days are there in a leap year?

3. Write the names of the days of the week.

4. Write the names of the months.

5. By using the calendar on page 134 find the number of weeks in a year. Then check this number by dividing the number of days in a year by 7.

6. Suppose it is Dec. 11th. How many days will you have to wait till Christmas (Dec. 25th)? (Count Dec. 25th, but not Dec. 11th). How many weeks is this?

7. Our school closes June 13th. Find how many days after that it will be before the Fourth of July by counting the rest of the days in June, and adding the first 4 days of July. How many weeks is this?

From the calendar find how many days there are:

8. Between March 3d and March 31st.

9. Between April 21st and May 5th.

10. Between August 18th and September 6th.

11. Our summer vacation starts June 13th and closes September 5th. How many days are there in our summer vacation?

12. A man rents a garage for $8 a month. How much rent does he pay in a year?
