BE IT REMEMBERED, that on the first day of July, in the forty-second year of the Independ ence of the United States of America, D T BLAKE, of the said district, hath deposited in this office the title of a book the right whereof he claims as author, in the words following, to wit:

"An Historical Treatise on the Practice of the Court of Chancery of the State of New-York, containing all the proceedings of a sit, as well in the Court of Chancery, as in the Court for the Trial of Impeachments and Correction of Errors. By D. T. BLAKE, Solicitor and Counsellor in Chancery."

In conformity to the Act of the Congress of the United States, entitled "An Act for the encou ragement of Learning, by securing the.copies.of. Maps, Charts, and Books to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the time therein mentioned.” And also to an Act, entitled, “An Act, supplementary to an Act, entitled and Actfu, the encouragement of Learning, by securing the copies of Maps, Charts and Books.to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned, and extending the benefits thereof to the arts of designing, engraving, and etching historical and other prints."

CHARACTER OF THE BOOK.

Ar the request of D. T. BLAKE, one of the Masters in Chancery for the State of New-York, having lately examined a book, entitled, "A Treatise on the Practice of the Court of Chancery for the State of NewYork," we have no hesitation in saying, that as a book of Practice, it will be found of great utility not only in this, but in every other State in the Union which has Chancery jurisdiction.
