"A preamble and resolutions approving the administration of President Jackson."

"An act to incorporate a board of Curators of the St. Charles College."

"An act to establish a state road from Ste. Genevieve to Caledonia, and from Caledonia to Courtois Mines."

"An act to incorporate the Paynesville and Mississippi Rail Road Company."

"An act amendatory to an act entitled an act to regulate the Treasury Department."

"A resolution requiring the persons who undertake the Printing to give bond and security,

"An act prescribing the mode by which fines and forfeitures may be recovered."

"A resolution accepting the proposals of Calvin Gunn for the printing of the Laws &c.

"An act to provide for the sale of the Franklin Academy."

"A resolution accepting the proposals of Messrs. Chambers & Harris, for printing the journals of both Houses of the present General Assembly."

"An act to amend an act, fixing the salaries of civil officers." "An act to incorporate the Columbia Female Academy."

"An act to incorporate a Turnpike Road Company from Hannibal in Marion county, to New London in Ralls county."

"An act concerning school lots in the town of St. Ferdinand, commonly called Florisant.

Which are here with submitted for the signature of the President of the Senate.

The President signed said bills and they were delivered to the committee on Enrolled bills, to be presented to the Governor for his appro. val and signature.

Message from the House of Representatives by Mr. Barnes, a member.

MR. PRESIDENT.-The House of Representatives have passed a preamble and resolutions relating to the expunging from the journals

of the Senate of the United States, the resolution condemning the conduct of President Jackson, in relation to the removal of the public deposites.

The House has appointed Messrs. Gordon, Simmons, Wilkerson Edwards, Groom and Munroe, a committee of conference, to join such committee as may be appointed on the part of the Senate to - act on the disagreement between the two Houses, on the subject of the amendments made by the Senate to

"A bill to charter the St. Louis and Fayette Rail road Company." On motion of Mr. Rawlins,

The Senate recurred to the order of propositions and motions, and he moved a reconsideration of the vote by which the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled, "an act to establish and keep in repair public roads and highways in the county of Pike," was rejected.

Which was adopted.

Tire question recurred, shall the bill pass? and

It was determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Ashby asked and obtained leave of absence for Mr. Gorham, for the balance of the session, after to-morrow.

Mr. Campbell offered the following,

Resolved, That the House of Representatives be informed that the Senate adhere to their amendment to a bill to incorporate the Saint Louis and Fayette Rail Road Company, and that they therefore decline to appoint a committee of conference on that subject.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Montgomery from the committee on Enrolled Bills reported that the committee had presented to the Governor for his approval enrolled bills entitled,

"An act to incorporate a board of Curators of the St. Charles College."

"An act to establish a state road from Ste. Genevieve to Caledonia and from Caledonia to Courtois Mines."

"An act directing the mode by which fines penalties and forfeitures may be recovered."

"An act to incorporate the Columbia Female Academy."

"An act amendatory to an act entitled, an act to regulate the Treasury Department."

"An act concerning school lands in the town of St. Ferdinand, commonly called Florisant, in St. Louis county."

"An act to incorporate the Paynesville and Mississippi Rail Road Company."

"An act to incorporate the Osage Mining and Smelting company." "An act to provide for the sale of the Franklin academy."

"An act to amend an act entitled an act fixing the salaries of Civil Officers."

"A joint resolution of approbation of President Jackson's administration." And

Three separate resolutions on the subject of printing.

An engrossed joint resolution from the House of Representatives approving the course of the Ion. Thomas H. Benton, in relation to expunging from the Senate Journal, the censure of President Jackson for the removal of the deposites of the government from the bank of the United States,"

Was read a first time.

On motion of Mr. Rawlins,

The rule which requires bills to be read on three several days was dispensed with, and

The resolution was read a second and a third time.

The question, shall the resolution pass?

Was determined in the affirmative as follows:

Ayes-Messrs. Ashby, Byrd, Gorham, Goforth, Jones of Cooper, McClelland, McDaniel, Montgomery, Rawlins, Robison, Sterigere, Thompson, Valle, Vanarsdall, Walsh, Weaver and Williams.-15. Nays-Messrs. Campbell and Jones of Pike.-2.

Messrs. Deguire and Smith absent.

On motion of Mr. Jones of Cooper,

An engrossed bill from the House of Representatives entitled, "An act to incorporate the Agricultural School of Cooper county." Was takeu up, and

It was read a first time, and

On his motion,

The rule which requires bills to be read on three several days was dispensed with, and

The bill was read a second and a third time and it passed. The president laid before the Senate, the following communication from the Executive.

Mr. Ashby from the committee on Ways and Means, to which was referred an engrossed bill from the House of Representatives, entitled,

"An act to amend an act to license and tax merchants,"

Reported the said bill back to the Senate without amendment. Mr. Ashby moved

To amend the bill by striking out of the first line of the second section "one sixteenth," and insert in place thereof one twelfth. Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Ashby,

The rule which requires bills to be read on three several days was dispensed with, and

The bill was read a third time.

Mr. Ashby moved

To amend the bill by striking out the words "and made a part of the general property of the state."

Which was read a first and a second time and was considered as engrossed, and

Was read a third time, and

On motion of Mr. Ashby,

The bill and amendments were laid on the table..

Mr. Campbell from the committee on Civil Judicature, to which was referred an engrossed bill from the House of Representatives, entitled,

"An act to define the jurisdiction of Courts of Chancery in certain cases,"

Reported the same back to the Senate with amendments, which On motion of Mr. Sterigere,

Were considered as engrossed, and

On his motion,

The rule which requires bills to be read on three several days was dispensed with, and

The bill was read a third time

MR. PRESIDENT:-The House of Representatives, have concurred in the amendments made by the Senate to an act to incorporate the St. Louis Theatre."

The House has disagreed to the amendment made by the Senate to the bill entitled,

"An act providing for the election of a commissioner of the permanent seat of government."
