CHAPTER 1.

AN ACT authorising the Overseers of the Poor of the Town of Kingsbury, to appropriate certain Monies therein mentioned.

Passed September 19, 1828. The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

§ 1. It shall be lawful for the overseers of the poor of $400 to be the town of Kingsbury, in the county of Washington, to pay board of su paid to the out of the monies in their hands, as such overseers, to the pervisors. treasurer of said county, the sum of four hundred dollars: and it shall be lawful for the board of supervisors of said county, at their annual meeting, on the receipt of said treasurer for such payment, to cause such sum to be deducted from the share of the contingent charges of the county, which said town would otherwise have, or be liable to pay; and said treasurer shall pay out such sum in such manner as the said board of supervisors shall direct.

§ 2. It shall be lawful for said overseers, after the payment of said four hundred dollars, to pay to the commissioners of highways of said town, for the support of roads and bridges in said town, the residue of the monies in their hands, as such overseers, except the sum of seventy-five dollars; and it shall be lawful for the said overseers to pay said seventy-five dollars in such manner as the inhabitants of said town, at their annual town-mecting, shall direct.

CHAP. 2.

AN ACT authorising the Board of Supervisors of Oneida County, to raise an additional sum of Money, for the repair and rebuilding of Bridges in the Town of Trenton, in said County.

Passed September 24, 1828.

The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

§ 1. It shall and may be lawful for the board of supervito be raised sors of the county of Oneida, at their annual meeting, to raise by tax, to be levied on the taxable property in the town of Trenton, in said county, in the same manner as other town charges are raised and levied, a sum not exceeding five hundred dollars, in addition to the sum now allowed by law to be raised, to be paid to the commissioners of highways in said town, for the repair and rebuilding of bridges in said town.

§ 2. Such additional sum shall not be raised, unless the same shall have previously been fixed upon and determixed by a vote of the freeholders and inhabitants of said town, in legal town-meeting.

CHAP. 3.

AN ACT to authorise the Supervisors of Genesee to raise Money to rebuild the Bridges across Allen's Creek, in the Town of Warsaw.

Passed September 24, 1828. The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

§ 1. The supervisors of the county of Genesee, are here. raised by by authorised and required, at their next annual meeting, to direct to be levied, collected and paid, as the contingent charges of the county are by law directed to be levied, collected and paid, the sum of one thousand dollars, for the purpose of rebuilding the several bridges across Allen's creek, which were carried away during the last summer, and particularly a bridge in the south part of the village of Warsaw, a bridge in the west part of said village, and a bridge between said village and the village of Middlebury, near the line of said town, in a permanent manner, and for the building and thorough repair of the road from the last mentioned bridge, south to its intersection with the Le Roy road, together with the fees for collecting and paying the same; which said sum of one thousand dollars, when paid

§ 2. Samuel McWhorter, Elizur Webster and Solomon Commis Morris, Junior, are hereby appointed commissioners to superintend the building of the said bridges, with full power to contract for the materials and workmanship of the same, to the extent of the sum hereby granted; and in case of the death or refusal of said commissioners, or either of them, to serve, it shall be lawful for the first judge of said county, to appoint a person or persons to fill the vacancy.

§ 4. The said commissioners shall account with the board To account. of supervisors of said county, from time to time, as they shall require, for all monies expended or received by the said commissioners by virtue of this act; in which account a reasonable sum shall be allowed said commissioners for their services, to be fixed by the board of supervisors.

CHAP. 4.

AN ACT explanatory of the "Act concerning the
Revised Statutes passed at the present meeting
of the Legislature," passed December 4th, 1827.
Passed October 13, 1828.
The People of the State of New-York, represented in
Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

§ 1. Nothing contained in the act passed on the fourth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and twentyseven, entitled "An act concerning the Revised Statutes passed at the present meeting of the Legislature," shall be construed to repeal, or in any manner affect the provisions of any laws in force at the time of passing the said act relative to the bonds and sureties required to be given by collectors of taxes, or relative to the election of commissioners of common schools, or conmissioners of highways, or any other town officer; nor to repeal or affect any provisions of the act to prevent fraudulent bankruptcies by incorporated companies, to facilitate proceedings against them, and for other purposes," passed April 21st, 1825, so far as the said act is applicable to any existing incorporations.
