A reverent and thoughtful mind will find here ideas which it will be glad to lay hold of and follow up, and in doing so will be greatly helped to understand how all that is sound and true in modern ideals finds still a perfect consummation in the truths and principles of the eternal kingdom of the law of God."-The Lay Reader.

ASPECTS OF THE ATONEMENT:

The Atoning Sacrifice illustrated from the various sacrificial types of the Old Testament and from the successive ages of Christian thought

With a Preface by EDWARD, Bishop of Lincoln

Crown 8vo, 2s. 6d. net

"We venture to say that there are few better introductions to the theological study of the more complex of Christian doctrines in existIt should also be added that its simplicity and clearness make the book eminently readable and profitable for reasonably intelligent readers among the laity. The book will well repay careful study by all."-Living Church (New York).

'We are inclined to think that the Church is in Messrs. Rivingtons' debt in consideration of Mr. Lonsdale Ragg's treatise, 'Aspects of the Atonement,' prefaced by Bishop King, published at the amazingly low price of 2s. 6d. net. It is a beautiful piece of work, thoroughly Catholic and thoroughly Evangelical. It is divided into sections, each headed with a precis of the contents. The stupendous mystery of the Atonement is carefully considered, and its treatment by the theologians of Christendom clearly explained. The author sets a high value on the Typology of the Levitical rites, and administers a merited rebuke to those who misrepresent the prophets as deprecating the value of Sacrifice. Would that all minor theological treatises were worked out in so comprehensible a style. Mr. Ragg succeeds in leaving clear cut in his reader's mind the impression he had intended to make."-The Commonwealth.

EVIDENCES OF CHRISTIANITY

Forming a Volume of the "Oxford Church Text Books"

Small Fcap. 8vo, Is. net

"We doubt whether it would be possible to find a volume of the same size equally admirable."-Guardian.

"It is ably done, and leads those who use it carefully towards a thorough study of a very important matter."-Rochester Diocesan Chronicle.

"This is an excellent little manual that fills a gap in our literature. We have long needed a brief manual of evidences, based on accurate scholarship and yet adapted to the needs of those who have neither the time nor the training necessary for close study.'

Forming a Volume of

"Rivingtons' Edition of the Books of the Bible."

Crown 8vo, Is. 6d.

"The Second Book of Samuel is very frequently taken in schools, and this edition by Mr. Ragg will be found a great acquisition both to teachers and boys. A useful feature for teachers is the addition of notes of reference to standard works."-Church Bells.

"The history is vividly put, and we have the text given with pretty full notes and some useful appendices, and there is a good deal of information on the Bible in this handy book."- Church Review.

"Will be a valuable help both to teachers and older scholars. There are already eight other volumes, and by buying these and each new volume as it appears, managers will provide their schools with a valuable Bible commentary at a very small price."-School Guardian.
