EXAMPLES. 1. The difference between two numbers is 307, the less number is 497. What is the larger ?

Ans. 804. 2. The difference in the number of chapters in the Bible and Testament is 669: the Testament contains 260. Required the number of chapters in the Bible. Ans. 929.

SUBTRACTION teaches to take a less number from a larger.
