dowment creating a fund, the interest to be expended for the relief of the Jewish poor of the city of P.; 17 an endowment to support measures for "the protection of the property of our fellow-citizens from fire "; 18 a bequest of a fund, the interest to be applied to the increase of the Sunday-school library of a designated church; 19 a legacy to a town for the purpose of erecting a town-house; 20 and a provision in a will to establish an institution "for the benefit, tuition, and advancement in learning of the youth residing from time to time hereafter in the state of New Jersey." 21 In Delaware, the court of chancery has succeeded to the jurisdiction exercised by the English chancery over charitable uses; 22 and if the objects of a charitable use are uncertain, the charity may be administered by the court of chancery.23
