Q. 29. What are the punishments of fin in the world to come? A. The punishment of Sin in the world to come, are everlafting feparation from the comfortable prefence of God, and moft grievous torments in foul and body, without intermiffion, in hell-fire for ever o.

A. God doth not leave all men to perish in the estate offin and mifery P, into which they fell by the breach of the firft covenant, commonly called the covenant of works 9. A. The covenant of grace was made with Christ as the fecond Adam, and in him with all the elect as his feed f.

Q. 32. How is the grace of God manifefted in the second covenant?

A. A. The covenant of grace was adminiftred under the old teftament, by promifes f, prophecies g, facrifices h, circumcifion i, the paffover k, and other types and ordinances; which

Q 35. How is the covenant of grace adminiftred under the new Teftament ?

A. Under the new teftament, when Chrift the fubftance was exhibited, the fame covenant of grace was and still is to be adminiftred in the preaching of the word n, and the adminiftration of the facraments of baptifm o and the Lord's Supper p; in which grace and falvation are held forth in more fulness, evidence and efficacy to all nations 4.

Q. 36. Who is the Mediator of the covenant of grace?

A. The only Mediator of the covenant of grace is the Lord Jefus Christ r, who being the eternal Son of God, of one fubftance and equal with the Father f, in the fulnels of time became man t,and so was and continues to be God and man in two entire distinct natures, and one person for ever v. Q. 37. How did Chrift, being the Son of God,become man? A. Chrift the Son of God became man, by taking to himfelf a true body, and a reasonable foul w, being conceived by the power of the holy Ghoft, in the womb of the Virgin Mary, of her substance, and born of her x,

For this is the covenant that I will make with the houfe of Ifrael after those days, faith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they fhall be to me a people.v.11.
