There is alfo a diftinction of Cuftom-Houfe, and Invoice TARE, as in Tobacco's and Indigo's, &c. and fometimes uncertains, as in Tobacco's and Sugars, happening according to the Size of the Cafk.

TRET is an allowance of 4lb. upon every 104lb. Suttle, claimed by the Freemen of the City of LONDON, and fometimes to others alfo, and this is allowed for wafte and dust, on fome forts of Goods, as on Tobacco's, Spices, Drugs, &c.

CLOUGH Is an allowance of 2lb. upon every draught above 3 Cwt. to Citizens of LONDON.

NEAT WEIGHT, is what remains when the allowances are deducted.

SUTTLE is the weight of the Goods when the TARE is fubtracted, but not the TRET.

When the Tare is at fo much per Barrel, Bag, &c. Multiply the number of the faid Barrels, Bags, &c. by the Tare, and fubtract that Product from the Grofs, the remainder is the Neat.

When the Tare is an Aliquot part or parts of the Cwt. divide the whole Grofs by the part or parts that the Tare is of an Cut. and the Quotient gives the Tare of the whole, which fubtract from the whole Grofs, the remainder is the neat weight.

Note. I. Figs, Almonds, Argol, &c. 14lb. per Cent, Caroteels, Buts of Currants, c. ib. per Gent, Oil in uncertain Calks, &c. 18lb. per Cont

II. Whatever part the given Tare is of an Cwt. the same must the whole Tare be of the given Großs weight.
