COLLEGE SCHOLARS. The College Scholarships of the year 1894 have been awarded as follows:- * In the Senior Division, School of Music, the Onslow Medal for 1894 was awarded to CLARA M. P. LORRIGAN. In the Junior Division the Medal was awarded to UNIVERSITY SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP. After the Examination held by the University of New Zealand in November, 1892, the Senate awarded 8 (eight) Senior Scholarships, one of which was gained by the following student of the Auckland University College:: JOHN BOYLE Chemistry. The granting of College Scholarships is discontinued, UNIVERSITY JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP. After the Examination held by the University of New Zealand in December, 1892, the Senate awarded a Junior Scholarship to PETER DRUMMOND, who was ranked fifth of the successful candidates, the total number being twelve. Respecting this student the following is extracted from the New Zealand University Calendar, 1893 1894- "DRUMMOND, P.-Tuition: Auckland College and Grammar School. Subjects Latin, English, THE EXHIBITION 1851 SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP. In the year 1892 the Exhibition 1851 Science Scholarship allotted to New Zealand was awarded to DAVID HAMILTON JACKSON, M.A., of the Auckland University College, in Chemistry. |
