WHEREAS, it is important to the interests of the State, and necessary in a historical point of view, that the proceedings of this, the first Convention in the new era of South Carolina, should be permanently preserved; be it

Resolved, That a Committee of three be appointed to make such arrangements with one or more short hand reporters as will secure a faithful record of the proceedings and debates of this body, the compensation for the same to be not more than the sum paid to official reporters in Congress, and to be paid by the Treasurer of the State, on the presentation to the President of the Convention of the proceedings in manuscript, ready for the printer, in the bills receivable of this Commonwealth, at their market value, that amount to be paid by the Treasurer of the State, on the order of the President of the Convention.
