PREFATORY NOTE.

Besides noting every division proper in the science of Arithmetic, the author has incorporated in this volume much valuable material in the way of tables, rules, etc., that will be found very useful to Teachers and Students either in preparing for examinations or for ready reference.

The author has aimed to make this book complete in every sense of the word, as an examination of the work will show, there is scarcely a conceivable question of any importance that is not asked and answered. Nor is it designed exclusively for Teachers and Students; hundreds of Teachers have used the other books of the series and they will place this in the hands of their pupils in their schools for a review with marked success, and at the same time, save themselves a great amount of work in teaching.
