Candidates marked (W.I.) are qualified for commissions in the West India regiments only. The position of the candidates marked (W.I.") depends upon the choice exercised by the candidates marked (C. & I.). These candidates are also entered for the cavalry, and if any of them choose the cavalry their places will be filled from the candidates marked (W.I.*). If more than four should choose the cavalry, their places will be filled from the next candidates in order of merit, whose names are given below; but these gentlemen should clearly understand that the publication of their names does not give any of them a title to a commission. |
