k Lev. xix. 15. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. Prov. xiv. 5. A faithful witness will not lie; but a false witness will utter lies. Ver. 25. A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

Q, 145. What are the sins forbidden in the ninth_commandment?

A. The sins forbidden in the ninth commandment are, all prejudicing the truth, and the good name of our neighbours,

ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you. 2 Cor. xii. 21. And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness, and fornication, and lasciviousness, which they have committed.

p Prov. xvii. 9. He that covere1h a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends 1 Pet iv. 8. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. Ver. 4. Thou lovest all-devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

& Prov. xvii. 15.. He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord. 1 Kings xxi. from Verse 9. to 14. And she (Jezebel) wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim
