tion we commit ourselves. The Lord bless us, and keep us. The Lord make his face to shine upon us, and be gracious unto us. The Lord lift up his countenance upon us, and give us peace, both now and evermore. Amen.m
m Visitation of the Sick.
The Family being met together, let the Master say the following Sentence of Scripture, and then that which is written after the said Sentence.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalm, li. 17.
Seeing, beloved, that all they are accursed, as the Prophet David beareth witness, which do err and go astray from the commandments of God; Let us return unto our Lord God, with all contrition and meekness of heart, bewailing and lamenting our sinful life, acknowledging and confessing our offences, and seeking to bring forth fruits meet for repentance."
* Morning Prayer.
General Confession by the Master and
Family, all kneeling. O most mighty God, and merciful Father, who hast compassion upon all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made; who wouldest not the death of a sinner, but that he should rather turn from his sin, and be saved; Mercifully forgive us our trespasses ; Receive and comfort us, who are grieved and wearied with the burden of our sins. Thy property is always to have mercy; to thee only it appertaineth to forgive sins. Spare us therefore, good Lord, spare thy people, whom thou hast redeemed; enter not into judgment with thy servants, who are vile earth, and miserable sinners; but so turn thine anger from us, who meekly acknowledge our vileness, and truly repent us of our faults; and so make haste to help us in this world, that we may ever live with thee in the world to come; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."
Prayer for Contrition and Newness of
ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all them that are penitent; Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins, and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness ; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us. | Then let the Master and Family say
the Lord's Prayer with a loud Voice.
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not
into temptation ; But deliver us from evil. Amen.
O Lord, shew thy mercy upon us.
Ans. And mercifully hear us, when we call upon
thee. Endue thy ministers with righteousness. Ans. And make thy chosen people joyful. O Lord, save thy people. Ans. And bless thine inheritance. Give
peace in our time, O Lord. Ans. Because there is none other that fighteth for us, but only thou, O God.
O God, make clean our hearts within us.
Collect for the Day.
For Love of God's Commandments.
O ALMIGHTY GOD, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men ; Grant unto thy people, that they may love the thing which thou commandest,
