PREFACE.

THE occasional publication by the four Examiners of their own Solutions of the Problems and Riders proposed to Candidates for Mathematical Honours has grown into a custom, and the reasons in favour of this practice have been so often stated, being in fact almost obvious, that it is not necessary to offer any remarks on the subject in regard to this volume. The only new feature which characterises the present collection of Solutions consists in the appendage of a brief table of marks.
