GRINDSTONES are fold by the cubic foot, commonly called a ftone, and the contents are thus found: RULE. To the whole diameter add half of the diameter, and multiply the fum of these by the fame half, and this product by the thicknefs; divide this last number by 1728, the inches in a cubic foot, and the quotient is the contents, or anfwer required. EXAMPLE. 4. How many cubic feet in a grindstone, 24 inches diameter, and 4 inches thick ? 24 diameter. 12 half diameter. 5. What are the contents of a grindstone, 36 inches diameter, and 4 inches thick ? To change New-England and Virginia currency to Federal money, the dollar being 6 fhillings. RULE. Proceed in this manner through the feveral parts of a pound, and the numbers standing on the left hand, make the answer, in the several denominations. NOTE.
