LLIGATION PARTIAL is when the rates of all the things, the quantity of but one of them, and the mean rate of the whole mixture are given to find the feveral quantities of the reft in proportion to the quantity given.

RULE.

Fira take the differences between each price, and the mean rate, and place them alternately, as in Alli

gation Alternate.

LLIGATION Total is when the rates of the feveral things, the quantity to be compounded, and the mean rate of the whole mixture are given to find, how much of each fort will make up the quantity.

RULE.

Firft place the differences between the feveral prices and the mean rate alternately as in Alligation Alternate, then fav.

per feer, at 6 annas per feer, at 4 annas per feer, and at 2 annas per feer, and he would have a compofition of a maund weight worth 5 annas per seer, I demand, how much of each fort he must take?

each fort he must have? Anfwer 45 gallons of
Canary, and of Malaga, Rhenish and Oporto, each
5 gallons.
