HICH are allowances from merchants to

RULE.

Calculate the commiflion, as in Cafe ift of Simple Intereft for 1 year.

(1) My factor fends me word that he has bought goods to the value of 110grs 8a. 4p. upon my account; I demand what his commiffion comes to at 31 per cent?

BROK

BROKAGE.

ROKAGE is an allowance to perfons called Brokers at a certain rate per cent for finding customers, and felling to them the goods of other men, whether natives or ftrangers.

RULE.

Divide the given fum by 100, and take parts from the quotient with the rate per cent; but if the brokage fhould exceed 1 per cent the operation will be the fame as in Cafe 1ft of Simple Intereft for 1 year.

RULE.

Calculate the infurance, as in Cafe ift of Simple Interest for 1 year.

(1) Infured 4720rs. 13a. on the ship Sea Horfe, for the prefent voyage to Madras, infurance at 14 per cent, what does it amount to?
