AN ACT to provide for the dedication of the monument erected in Shiloh National Military Park in memory of the Michigan regiments participating in the Battle of Shiloh during the Civil War; and to provide for the expense in connection therewith.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

AN ACT making an appropriation for the completing of the armory at Muskegon, and to provide a tax to meet the

same.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the State, the sum of five hundred seventy-five dollars for the purpose of meeting extra expenses for excavating and concrete work for foundations in the erection of the State armory at Muskegon.

SEC. 2. The said sum hereby appropriated shall be paid out of the general fund in the State treasury to the credit of said armory fund at Muskegon, at such times and in such amounts as the general accounting laws of the State of Michigan prescribe, and all bills for the completion of such items as are mentioned in section one of this act shall first be examined and allowed by the military board, and thereafter the said military board shall certify the accounts to the Auditor General, and if there be any amount remaining after the payment of aforesaid items the same shall revert to the general fund in the State treasury.

SEC. 3. The Auditor General shall incorporate in the State tax for the year nineteen hundred nineteen the sum of five hundred seventy-five dollars, which sum, when collected, shall be credited to the general fund to reimburse the same for the moneys hereby appropriated.

AN ACT to create a special commission to investigate the entire question of sprinkler insurance in all its various phases, including the cost of manufacture, installation, approval and sale of sprinkler-heads, so-called; to provide for the appointment of the members of said commission; to fix their compensation and to prescribe their powers and duties.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. There is hereby created a special commission Commission consisting of three members to be appointed by the Governor whose duty it shall be to investigate the entire question of sprinkler insurance in all its various phases, including the cost of manufacture, installation, approval and sale of sprinkler-heads, so-called.

SEC. 2. Immediately following their appointment the Organization. members of said commission shall meet and organize by the selection of a chairman. Said commission is hereby Power. given full power and authority to administer oaths, to examine all persons deemed proper by said commission; to issue subpoenas and compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of books of record, papers and documents. Said Assistance. commission is further authorized to call upon any State department, and it shall be the duty of such department to furnish said commission with any expert or legal assistance they may require; and said commission is further authorized to employ competent stenographic and other clerical assistance and to incur such other and further expense as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this act.
