2. Next Saturday morning Tom is to receive 75¢ for cleaning a cellar. He is to use 80% of this to buy two dry cells. How much do they cost apiece?

3. In the afternoon he is to be paid 40¢ working in Johnson's grocery store from 3:30 to 6:00. At what rate per hour is this?

4. Last month Tom's father offered him $1 if he would save 60% of his earnings. Tom earned $6.50 and saved $4.00. Did he win the dollar?

5. One Saturday Tom distributed 400 handbills advertising a bargain sale. He delivered 250 in the morning. What per cent was left for the afternoon?
