1. A. B., a station manager, æt. 38, received an injury to his right testicle twelve months ago, the testicle being bruised against the saddle. The part became swollen and painful, and he was laid up in bed for a week. The swelling gradually went down, but the testicle never came back to its original size. However, it did not inconvenience him, and he did not think about the injury until five months ago, when he noticed that the testicle was larger. It has since increased steadily in size, until now the scrotal swelling is about the size of the foetal head at term. The upper part of the swelling is apparently fluid, and the lower two-thirds solid. The cord appears to be not enlarged. The skin is normal to look at, and is not implicated in the swelling. There is and has been no pain. He seeks advice on account of the weight of the swelling and the deformity caused by it. His general health is excellent, and he has not lost.
