The Caledonian Coursing Picture, painted by Richard Ansdell, Esq., containing portraits of the most celebrated coursers in Scotland, and most of their greyhounds that have won Caledonian Cups and Plates; open to 128; greyhounds named by Members of any Coursing Club in England, Ireland, or Scotland; entrance, 61. 5s. each dog; ran in classes of 16 to each stake, viz.:-1, the Michael Angelo; 2, the Leonardo da Vinci; 3, the Rembrandt, limited to dogs; 4, the Titian, limited to bitches; 5, the Raphael; 6, the Guido; 7, the Annibal Caracci, limited to dogs; 8, the Rubens, limited to bitches; 9, the Dominichino, for winner of 1 versus winner of 2; 10, the Corregio, for winner of 3 v. winner of 4; 11, the Vandyke, for winner of 5 v. winner of 6; 12, the Murillo, for winner of 7 v. winner of 8; 13, the Snyders, for winner of 9 v. winner of 10; 14, the Landseer, for winner of 11 v. winner of 12. The winners of 13 and 14 running the deciding course for the Picture; the winner of each stake received 10 sovs.; the runner-up in each of the first 8 stakes 16ceived 5 sovs.; the runner up for the picture, 70 sovs.; the surplus to go towards defraying the expenses of the Picture and the Meeting.
