I THINK it right to acknowledge that

the main Substance of the first Discourse, and fome of the best Thoughts in the fecond, are taken from two modern Authors: whofe Names it does not seem neceffary to mention.

I have fixed the Price low: in Hopes that fome Persons, who approve of this Performance (fuch as it is) may think good to difperfe it amongst thofe, who feem to want Instruction.

We will confider firft the Duty of providing for their temporal Welfare.

Every Father is bound to provide for his Children, according to his Station in the World, and in Proportion to the Ability, which God hath given him. Even thofe, who have not the Light of the Gospel to direct them, are prompt
