Objects and terms of contracts.

For furnishing at Fairport Harbor, Ohio, delivered and piled in such storehouse as the contractor for such pier-work shall designate, the iron bolts and spikes (estimated at 8,000 pounds drift-bolts and 2,000 pounds ship or boat spikes) required by specifications for repairs to the east pier, at, for drift-bolts, 2 cents per pound; for spikes, 3 cents per pound.

For removing from the channel of the Sacramento River, Cal., at and below Colby's Landing, such snags as may, in the judgment of the inspector to be appointed by the government, be necessary to insure a safe and convenient navigation for the classes of boats and barges that are used in the river trade, at $39.50 for each snag removed. Expired September 30, 1879.

For furnishing copper plate and engraving thereon lake-survey chart entitled Lake Ontario Coast Chart, number five (5), and delivering the same at office of the Chief of Engineers at Washington, D. C., for $1,150. March 15, 1880. For furnishing copper plate and engraving thereon lake-survey chart entitled Lake Erie Coast Chart, number two (2), and delivering the same at'office of the Chief of Engineers, at Washington, D. C., or $817. Expired January 15, 1880. For furnishing all necessary materials and constructing a crib-dike, in the lower Ohio River near the Grand Chain, in accordance with the requirements of advertisement and specifications, at, for round timber, 7 cents per linear foot; for square timber, $18 per thousand feet, board measure; riprap stone, 88 cents per cubic yard; for brush, $1.50 per cord; for iron, 3 cents per pound. For building and sinking two cribs at Port Washington Harbor, Wisconsin, on the line of the pier, or piers, at, for pine timber, 12 by 12 inch, framed, 21 cents per linear foot; oak timber, framed, $25 per thousand feet, board measure; pine timber, laid, $13 per thousand feet, board measure; white oak or Norway pine piles, 11 cents per linear foot; iron drift-bolts, headed and pointed, 2 cents per pound; iron screw-bolts, nuts, and washers, 4 cents per pound; wrought-iron spikes, 4 cents per pound; stone, $6.75 per cord; driving piles, $3 each. Also for grading the road on what is known as the Sierra A warrilla hill on the road to Ojo Caliente, through a distance of about 1,500 feet, or the whole of the hill, making the road-bed 16 feet wide at the narrowest part, for the sum of $400.

For excavating and removing from the harbor at New Castle, Del., 15,000 cubic yards, more or less. of sand and mud, and depositing the same, at 15 cents per cubic yard. Expires December 15, 1879.

For excavating and removing from the channel of the Delaware River, at Cherry Island Flats, 400,000 cubic yards, more or less, of sand and mud, and depositing the same, at 23 cents per cubic yard. Expires September 15, 1880.

For dredging in Little Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island and Connecticut, at 234 cents per cubic yard, measured in scows. Expires June 30, 1880.

For dredging in Little Harbor, Wood's Holl, Massachusetts, at 243 cents per cubic yard, measured in scows. Expired December 1, 1879. For removing bowlders or rocks from Wood's Holl, Massachusetts, at the following prices: For all of 2 cubic yards or less in size, $8 per cubic yard; for all larger than 2 cubic yards, $7 per cubic yard. Expires June 30, 1880. For dredging 'between 300,000 and 400,000 cubic yards from Providence River, Rhode Island, between Fox Point and Field's Point, and about 120,000 cubic yards at Pawtuxet Shoal, at 16 cents per cubic yard. Expires December 1, 1880. For the removal of Bulkhead Rock, Providence River, to a depth of 20 feet at mean low water, for the sum of $7,169. Expires June 30, 1880.

For building an extension of the break water off Wamphassuck Point, Stonington Harbor, Connecticut, and furnishing 38,000 tons riprap, and dimension granite of 2,240 pounds each. and the necessary gun-metal dowels and clamps, and the labor required for pier heads, at 89 cents per ton. Expires June 30, 1880.

For furnishing the material and labor required, and constructing about 500 linear feet of dike, as per specifications, for the improvement of Woodbridge Creek, New Jersey, at $3.50 per linear foot. Expired December 1, 1879.

For excavating and removing from the channel of Elizabeth. River, in the vicinity of Atlantic street, city of Elizabeth, New Jersey, 15,000 cubic yards more or less of sand, gravel,. mud, and small stone, and depositing same, at 37 cents per cubic yard. Expired December 15, 1879.

For excavating and removing from the channel of the Rahway River, from Edgar's dock to the stone bridge, head of navi. gation, city of Rahway, N. J., 20,000 cubic yards more or less of sand, gravel, mud, and stone, at 37 cents per cubic yard, and depositing same. Expires under extension July 1, 1880.

For dredging in channel of Schuylkill River, 85,000 cubic yards, more or less, of sand, mud, coarse gravel, cobble-stone and bowlder, and depositing same, as per specifications, at following prices: for 40,000 cubic yards mud and sand, Letween the mouth of the river and Girard Point piers, at 21 cents per cubic yard; for 20,000 cubic yards of mud, sand, and gravel, between Pemore Ferry Bridge and Yankee Point, 30 cents per cubic yard; for 25,000 cubic yards of mud, coarse gravel, cobble-stones and bowlders, between Point Breeze and Gibson's Point, 42 cents per cubic yard. For furnishing all materials, labor, machinery, &c., and constructing. placing, and sinking 100 feet of cribs at the harbor of Ludington, Michigan, as follows: for pine timber, 19 cents per cubic foot; oak timber, 50 cents per cubic foet; iron drift bolts and spikes, 3 cents per pound; screw bolts. and washers, 4 cents per pound; stone, $8.25 per cord of 128 cubic feet; brush, $2 per cord of 128 cubic feet; for piles (driven), $8 each.
