3. In what reigns did the following battles take place : Agincourt, Evesham, Malplaquet, Flodden, Fontenoy?

4. In what reigns did the following celebrated men flourish :Cardinal Beaufort, Lord Keeper Guildford, Algernon Sidney, Thomas Cromwell, Sir Cloudesley Shovel, Dryden, Sir Isaac Newton, Sir William Cecil, Lord Chancellor Clarendon, the Earl of Chatham ?

5. When were the following Acts passed :-Statute of Præmunire, Petition of Right, Test and Corporation Acts, Septennial Act ?

6. Write a short account of the insurrection headed by Perkin Warbeck.

7. Assign dates to the accession of Henry II., Henry IV., Henry VII., George I.

8. What successes were achieved against the foreign enemies of England under the Protectorate of Cromwell ?

9. What was the great object of the foreign policy of William III. ? State the cause of his death, and of the death of his Consort.

10. Mention the principal events in the reign of George II.

II. Grammatical Questions. 1. Decline throughout fines, iter, utrisque, eandem, aditus.

2. Give the present, perfect, supine, and present infinitive of fecissent, inveniebant, persuaserant, viderentur, conjecisse.

3. Explain the construction of triduum, amplius millia passuum decem, and show why expectari is in the infinitive mood, and esset (aditus non esset) in the subjunctive.

4. Write out the imperative of fecisset, and also the imperfect subjunctive.

5. To what class of verbs does experirentur belong ? Explain the meaning of the name given to this class, and mention five verbs more of the same kind.

6. Give the meanings of uterque, uter, quisque, quisquam, quicunque.

7. Why does Cæsar write ab castris suis, and not ab castris ejus ?
