Describe geographically the position of Athens, Antwerp, Brussels, Stockholm; and state for what these places are noted. 6. Describe the course of a vessel from Marseilles to Hamburg. Through what seas, straits, &c., would she sail, and what headlands and river mouths would she pass? On a rough outline map, sketch the coast line, and the probable course of the vessel. 7. Name, in geographical succession, all the countries washed. by the Mediterranean sea and its branches; and specify the principal seaports of each country, and its most important articles of export. 8. With respect to each of the following rivers, viz., the Rhone, the Rhine, the Trent, the Volga, the Shannon, state-(i.) Where it rises; (ii.) The counties or countries through which it flows; (iii.) The senior partner has 7 shares, the second 5, the third 3, and the junior partner 1 share. If the profits are £1205, how much will each partner receive? |
