9. At $3 a yard, how many yards of linen will $6 buy? 202. Analysis. – Since 1 yard of linen costs $3, there can be bought for $6 as many yards as the number of times $3 are contained in $6. 6 equals 3o; and 4 fifths are contained in 30 fifths 71⁄2 times. Or, $ are contained in $1 times; and $ are contained in $6 6 times times, or 3 times, or 71⁄2 times. Hence, etc.
