Thomas Twining entered Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, in 1755, and became a Fellow in 1760. His life was passed at Colchester he had sole charge of the parish of Fordham from 1764, the year of his marriage, and latterly held the living of St. Mary's in Colchester till his death in 1804.
