RULE.-Reckon a shilling for every pound, and 3d. for

every 5s.

XIX. To find the interest on any sum at 5 per cent per

annum for months.

RULE. Take the pounds as pence and multiply these pence by the number of months, for the answer in pence.

months.

RULE.-Multiply the pounds and months; cut off the unit figure of the product, and the remainder will be the interest in shillings. The figure cut off is tenths of a shilling. Thus, the interest of 91. at 6 per cent for 5 months is 9X543 48.=4s. 6rl.
