Minnesota Home Missionary Society.

SATURDAY MORNING SESSION.

The Society was called to order Oct. 16, 1875, at 9:45 A. M., President J. W. Strong in the chair. Rev. Geo. A. Hood was chosen temporary Scribe. Revs. L. W. Chaney, E. S. Williams and Bro. J. L. Noyes were appointed a Nominating Committee.

The report of the Treasurer was presented and accepted. (Appendix D.)

Supt. L. H. Cobb presented his report, which was accepted and ordered to be printed in the minutes. (Appendix L.) The Nominating Committee then read the following list of officers, who were elected:

President-Jas. W. Strong, D. D.
Treasurer-Wm. Cheney.

Auditor-R. J. Baldwin.

Directors at Large-Rev. E. M. Williams, Rev. N. C. Chapin.

The District Conferences presented nominations for Executive Committees of the local Conferences, and they were elected as follows:

Owatonna Conference-Revs. L. W. Chaney, A. Morse, L. Loring.
Western Conference-Revs. O. A. Starr, H. C. Simmons, J. D. Todd.
Winona Conference-Revs. J. W. Ray, S. H. Barteau, N. C. Chapin.
Anoka Conference-Revs. H. A. Stimson, A. J. Pike, A. Graves.

Concerning the overtures from the Presbyteries, it was voted that these papers be referred to a special committee, which shall report to-day.

On this Committee, Revs. L. W. Chaney, E. M. Williams and A. J. Pike were named by the Nominating Committee, and elected.

A proposition was made to appoint Rev. R. Hall Assistant Superintendent, during the discussion of which the Society adjourned to 4 P. M., after prayer by Rev. E. S. Williams.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON SESSION.

The Society was called to order, and the debate on appointment of an Assistant Superintendent resumed.

Rev. E. J. Hart reported that during the year $108.00 had been contributed to the Woman's Cent Society.

It was voted-That the pledges made to provide for the salary of Rev. R. Hall as a special assistant to the Home Missionary Superintendent, and the question of his employment in the manner proposed, be referred to a committee of three, with instructions to correspond with the American Home Missionary Society, and to take measures to carry out what in their judgment of the case may seem best.

Revs. C. M. Terry, E. M. Williams and L. W. Chaney were then elected as this committee.

The report of the Committee on Overtures from the Presbyteries was adopted. (Appendix K.)

It was then voted that a copy of this report be sent to each of the Presbyteries, and one to Rev. D. C. Lyon.

After prayer by Rev. E. M. Williams, the Society adjourned sine die.
