Amend House Bill No. 55, as printed in the Senate, by inserting after the semicolon in line 37 the following:

"in townships containing fifty thousand (50,000) or more inhabitants they shall receive a sum not exceeding thirty-six hundred dollars ($3,600) per annum and shall pursue no other gainful occupation." Concurred in by the House, June 15, 1923.

Mr. President-I am directed to inform the Senate that the House of Representatives has concurred with the Senate in the adoption of the following joint resolution, to-wit:

SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION No. 29.

Resolved, by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring herein, That when the two Houses adjourn on Tuesday, June 19th, 1923, a recess be taken until 4:00 o'clock p. m., on Saturday, June 30th, 1923, for the purpose of considering only messages from the Governor on bills passed by the General Assembly, and that when the General Assembly adjourns on the thirtieth day of June, 1923, it stands adjourned sine die; and, be it further

Resolved, That when the two Houses adjourn on June 19th, 1923, all bills on the calendar of either House and in committees lie on the table. Concurred in by the House June 15, 1923.

Mr. Dailey, from the Committee on Judiciary, to which was referred a bill, House Bill No. 775, for "An Act to amend section 6 of 'An Act to revise the law in relation to attorneys and counselors,' approved March 28, 1874, as amended."

Under the rules the bill was ordered to a first reading, and by unanimous consent, on motion of Mr. Joyce, the bill was read at large a first time and ordered to a second reading.

Mr. Wright, from the Conference Committee on House Bill No. 743, a bill for “An Act to provide for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the State government until the expiration of the first fiscal quarter after the adjournment of the next regular session of the General Assembly," presented the following Conference Committee report, which under the rules was ordered printed at once and to lie on the desks of the members.
