36 eggs are 3 times 12 eggs; therefore, the cost of
36 eggs is 3 times as great as the cost of 12 eggs.

eggs?

12 eggs= }} of 36 eggs = 1 of 36 eggs;

Or, as a ratio, 12 eggs are to 36 eggs as 1 is to 3.
