1. A bushel is nearly 14 cu.ft. Hence of the number of cubic feet is very nearly the number of bushels.

2. A cubic foot of any liquid contains nearly 71⁄2 gallons; a barrel of 31 gallons about 4 cu. ft.

3. A ton of fine hay in a well-settled large stack, or mow, is about 450 cu. ft. A ton of clover hay is about 550 cu. ft.
