created it, and every living being exclaim: The Eternal, the God of Israel, ruleth and His dominion endureth forever.

Choir:-Amen.

אתה בחרתנו

We render thanks unto Thee that Thou hast chosen our fathers from amongst all nations. Thou hast called us to Thy service, that through Israel Thy holy name may be known over all the earth. In Thy love hast Thou given us this Day of Memorial that we may remember that from day to day we are under Thy dispensation. Thou art our hope and our staff in times of trial, and trusting in Thy love, we shall resignedly accept whatever Thou mayest send unto us. May we ever remember the piety of our forefathers and the self-sacrifice with which they surrendered their possessions, yea, their very lives to the glory of Thy name. May we emulate their example in that we consecrate ourselves to Thy service and labor with all our powers for the welfare of our fellow-men. O sanctify us through Thy commandments, and enlighten us by Thy law. Satisfy us with Thy goodness and gladden us with Thy help. May we serve Thee in truth, for Thou, O God, art truth, and Thy word endureth forever. Blessed be Thou, O God, Ruler of the world, who sanctifiest Israel, and the Day of Memorial.

Choir:-Amen.

RANT us peace, Thy most precious gift, O Thou

eternal source of peace, and enable Israel to be a messenger of peace unto the peoples of the earth. Bless our country that it may ever be a stronghold of peace, and be its advocate in the councils of nations. May contentment reign within its borders, health and happiness within its homes. Strengthen the bonds of friendship and fellowship between all the inhabitants: of our land. Plant virtue in every soul and may love of Thy name hallow every home and every heart.

Inscribe us in the book of life, and grant unto us a year of prosperity and joy. Blessed be Thou, O Lord, Giver of peace. Amen.

Silent Devotion:

אלהי נצור

GOD, guard my tongue from evil and my lips from uttering deceit. Be my support when grief silences my voice, and my comfort when woe bends my spiri.. Plant humility in my soul, and strengthen my heart with perfect faith in Thee. Help me to be strong when temptations and trials come, and to be meek when others wrong me, that I may readily forgive them. Guide me by the light of Thy counsel, and let me ever find rest in Thee, who art my Refuge and my Redeemer. Amen.

HYMN.

NTO the tomb of ages past

INTO

Another year hath now been cast; Shall time unheeded take its flight, Nor leave one ray of higher light, That on man's pilgrimage may shine. And lead his soul to spheres divine?

With firm resolve your bosoms nerve, The God of right alone to serve; Speech, thought, and act to regulate, By what His perfect laws dictate; Nor from His holy precepts stray, By worldly idols lured away.

Peace to the house of Israel!
May joy within it ever dwell!
May sorrow on the opening year,
Forgetting its accustomed tear,

With smiles again fond kindred meet,
With hopes revived the festal greet!

ADORATION.

(Congregation standing.)
Minister:

LET us adore the ever-living God, and render

praise unto Him who spread out the heavens and established the earth, whose glory is revealed in the heavens above and whose greatness is manifest throughout the world: He is our God, and there is none else.

We bow our head and bend our knee and magnify the King of kings, the Holy One, the Ever-blest.

May the time not be far, O God, when Thy name shall be worshiped over all the earth, when unbelief shall disappear and error be no more. We fervently pray that the day may come upon which all men shall invoke Thy name, when corruption and evil shall give way to purity and goodness; when superstition shall no longer enslave the minds, nor idolatry blind the eyes, when all inhabitants of the earth shall perceive that to Thee alone every knee must bend and every tongue give homage. O may all, created in Thine image, recognize that they are brethren, so that they, one in spirit, and one in fellowship, may be forever united before Thee. Then shall Thy king
