Thou hast called us to Thy service, that through Israel Thy holy name may be known over all the earth. In Thy love hast Thou given us this Day of Memorial that we may remember that from day to day we are under Thy dispensation. Thou art our hope and our staff in times of trial, and trusting in Thy love, we shall resignedly accept whatever Thou mayest send unto us. May we ever remember the piety of our forefathers and the self-sacrifice with which they surrendered their possessions, yea, their very lives to the glory of Thy name.
