The following table exhibits the divisions of the year, the names of the months, and the number of days in each:

Winter. Autumn. Summer. Spring. Winter.

[merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][ocr errors]

The following lines will help to remember the number of days in each month:

"Thirty days hath September,
April, June and November;
All the rest have thirty-one,
Except February alone,

Which hath but twenty-eight in fine,

Till leap year gives it twenty-nine."

In our calculations on interest we shall reckon 30 days to the month, and 12 months to the year, although not strictly accurate.
