Competition Bursaries Vacant.

A competitive Examination for the undermentioned Bursaries will be held on Friday, 6th November:—

FIRST YEAR BURSARIES.

The Exchequer Bursary, of the annual value of £30, tenable for three years. See 164 of Calendar.

The Wemyss Bursary, of the annual value of £25, tenable for three years.

The Buist Bursary, of the annual value of £20, tenable for three years.

A Beath Bursary, of the annual value of about £18, tenable for three years.

One Foundation Bursary, of the annual value of about £12, tenable for three years.

Another Foundation Bursary, of the annual value of about £12, tenable for three years.

The Alexander Yeaman Bursary, of the annual value of £7, tenable for three years.

The Stuart Bursary, of the annual value of £10, tenable for three years.

The Additional Endowment Association Bursary, of the value of about £7, tenable for one year.

Candidates for these Bursaries will be examined in the following subjects:

Hebrew.-Paradigm of the Regular Verb, and of the Guttural Verb, with suffixes as appended both to verbs and nouns ; with the large print of the sections explanatory of the same in Gesenius's Grammar.

Presentation Bursaries Vacant.

PRIZES.

1. GRAY PRIZES.-A prize of £8 will be awarded for the best essay on each of the following subjects: (1) "The Messianic Expectation among the Jews, from the Exile to 70 A.D."; (2) Ignatius of Antioch and the Epistles ascribed to him."

The essays must be given in to the Secretary of the University, with mottoes and sealed notes, not later than 8th January 1892.

2. The COOK AND MACFARLAN TESTIMONIAL.-A prize of about £21 will be awarded to the Theological Student who has finished his course according to the rules of the Church, and who shall pass the best examination, to be held in the first week of December 1891, on the subjects prescribed on p. 166 of Calendar.

Candidates to give in their names on or before the 1st of November.

3. The CHANCELLOR'S PRIZE of £10, in books, will be awarded after examination on the subjects prescribed on p. 167 of Calendar. The Examination will take place on the first Friday in December, and all Students who have given attendance during Session 1890-91 may be competitors.
