At some period in the lives of most of us, we are apt to be confronted with a reflection of the need there is of providing for those who are to come after us, and we are apt to realize that we really know very little about the means by which it is to be accomplished. The problem forces itself upon us how legally to pass on the property we have spent a lifetime in accumulating; whether we can leave it to anyone, and in any amount we choose; whether it will be possible to bring about the founding of the charitable institution we have been so long considering; who will have in his hands the management and liquidation of the estate, and how it will be done.
